A four tube superheterodyne, it has reasonable sensitivity, and would be a perfect ballgame or newstalk radio for a kitchen, workshop, or garage. The four tube design might have only marginal performance in a basement unless you are in an area with good signal strength. There is no provision for an external antenna. Wards used Belmont and Wells Gardner to produce their pre War radios under contract to become one of the most prolific mail order catalogue sellers of the time. This powerful ten tube, two band console SB and police is quite rare this is the first one I have seen. Blake did a terrific job of restoring the electronics to perform like new. The capacitors were replaced and the resistors and tubes were tested and replaced as needed. The radio was aligned and performs quite well across the dial. The Art Deco cabinet is made of English Walnut, Maple, Ebony and painted Maple.
